Step 1: Select Your Platform
There are plenty of blogging platforms available, but if you're new to this, I'd suggest keeping it simple.
Use Blogger (which I also use) or WordPress.com. Both are free, simple, and no technical skills are required.
Step 2: Create Your Account
For Blogger, you just need your Google account. For WordPress.com, you just need to sign up in a few minutes.
Once you're in, give your blog a name that describes your content—or just your energy. Don't overthink it. You can always switch it up later.
Step 3: Choose a Theme
Now, the fun part. You get to decide what your blog looks like.
There are more than enough free templates to go around. Choose something simple and easy to read. Believe me, simple is best—particularly if you're a beginner.
Step 4: Customize It
Insert your blog title. Insert a brief description. Maybe insert a logo if you have one (do not if you don't). Create two easy pages: an "About" page to inform other individuals about you, and a "Contact" page so individuals can reach out to you. Then simply go and publish your very first blog post. Simply be authentic—this could be an introduction, your goals, or even why you began blogging.
Step 5: Press Publish
When your first post is complete, press that publish button. Hooray—your blog is up and running.
You may share your link to friends or post it on your social media. It is great to have your work accessible.
Bonus Tips (In Case You've Got a Minute or Two Spare) Want your own custom domain? Domains such as Namecheap or Google Domains are simple. Think about keywords and titles to allow others to find your blog on Google. Categorize your blog by using categories or labels when you add new posts.
